State of South Carolina's Marine Resources Division seeks personnel to operate main engines, generators, pumps and hydraulics on vessels, while performing preventative maintenance and supervising deck gear operations. The role includes maintaining parts inventory and training the scientific crew in safe winch use.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma and at least two years of related experience, with sea-going and shipboard operations knowledge preferred.

Qualificações

• High school diploma required or equivalent combination of education/experience.
• Two years of related experience preferred or equivalent combination accepted.

Responsabilidades

• Operate main engines, generators, pumps, A/C units and hydraulics while underway.
• Perform preventative maintenance on engines, generators, hydraulics, electronics, and deck gear.
• Operate cranes, winches and other heavy deck gear.
• Instruct scientific party in safe operation of winches.
• Requisition and maintain spare parts and inventory for engineering on board.
