Job summary

Vigor Marine Group in Vancouver, WA seeks a Structural Engineer II to participate in design and detail engineering for aluminum and steel vessels. You will support the development of structural systems, ensuring safety, compliance, and cost-to-produce targets within shipyard constraints.

Working with production, planning, quality, and management, you will resolve technical issues, review drawings and calculations, and support fabrication and installation activities while ensuring adherence to

Qualifications

• BS in an engineering discipline or equivalent required.
• Five (5) years of marine experience required, experience in vessel design and construction preferred.
• Familiarity with CFR, Classing Society rules, ABYC, IEEE, and military contracts is preferred.
• Ship Constructor experience is preferred.
• Familiarity with American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) standards.

Responsibilities

• Design vessel structures which meet requirements set forth in the vessel specification, creating models, drawings, and detailed bills of materials.
• Loft and nest all vessel parts for CNC cutting.
• Perform structural analysis and design in support of marine fabrication and shipyard projects.
• Develop and review structural drawings, calculations, and technical documentation.
• Coordinate with planners, weld engineers, and production leads to ensure designs are executable.
