Job summary

Marathon Petroleum Corporation (MPC) is seeking an Engineer 4 for the MRF in Catlettsburg, KY. The role partners with Operations and Port Engineers to oversee decking duties and preventative maintenance on the motor vessel.

Your duties include engine room maintenance, vessel orientation, safe fueling, decking tasks, and participating in safety programs and environmental initiatives. Local travel to vessels is expected as needed.

Qualifications

• Tankerman License verification required.
• Deckhand 1 Qualification Booklet completed and signed off.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must hold a valid driver license.
• Travel to and from the vessel for crew changes is expected.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic preventative maintenance for the engine room.
• Complete vessel orientation for each of the smaller class of vessels.
• Safely fuel the motor vessel.
• Maintain decking duties (barge work, locks, and tasks from Vessel Captain).
• Perform general boat maintenance.
• Participate in Marine SSP and safety initiatives.
• Assist shore side with vessel outages.
• Travel between vessel and shore as needed.
