AXIS Capital seeks an Underwriting Associate – Marine to join our team in a hybrid work environment. The role focuses on underwriting support, handling renewal processes, rating, and endorsements within assigned authority, with opportunities for growth in Operations and Underwriting.

You will gather information, prepare quotes, collaborate with claims and underwriters, and deliver exceptional service to brokers and clients while staying compliant with regulatory standards and company policies.

Qualifications

• 7-10 years prior experience within the insurance industry.
• Knowledge of Property and Casualty Insurance business concepts.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and the ability to operate within a network environment.
• Ability to lead and mentor.
• Ability to work effectively in a team setting as well as to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong demonstration of initiative, interpersonal skills, and a professional demeanor.
• Energetic self-starter with resilience and entrepreneurial spirit coupled with an inquisitive mindset.

Responsibilities

• Gather underwriting information and complete renewal quote and binder documents.
• Accept new/renewal risks within authority limits.
• Complete rating, experience modifications and policy issuance for automatic renewals.
• Prepare quote renewals with underwriting review as needed.
• Review renewal files and draft rating/pricing recommendations.
• Collaborate with claims adjusters to gather information for underwriter review.
• Be a resource for understanding complex accounts and endorsements.
• Provide SME on Insurance Desktop (IDT) and Duck Creek (DC).
• Support underwriters on day-to-day processes and training colleagues as requested.
