Job summary

AXIS Capital is seeking an Underwriting Associate – Marine to provide comprehensive underwriting support, manage designated accounts, and handle renewal activities. The role is embedded in a hybrid environment with opportunities to grow within Operations and Underwriting.

The ideal candidate has 7–10 years of insurance experience, knowledge of P&C concepts, strong MS Office skills, and the ability to lead and mentor in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years prior experience in the insurance industry.
• Knowledge of Property and Casualty Insurance concepts.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to operate within a network environment.
• Ability to lead and mentor others.
• Ability to work in a team and independently in a fast-paced setting.
• Strong initiative, interpersonal skills, and professional demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Provide underwriting support, acting as main contact for designated accounts.
• Manage renewal processes, quotes, and endorsements within authority.
• Complete rating, experience mods and policy issuance for automatic renewals.
• Collaborate with claims to gather information for underwriter review.
• Provide subject matter expertise on IDT and Duck Creek.
• Assist with training and mentoring colleagues as requested.
• Learn market trends, underwriting practices, and profit drivers.
