AXIS Capital is seeking an Underwriting Associate – Marine to support underwriting activities, manage renewals and new submissions, and issue policies within authorized limits. You will collaborate with underwriters, claims adjusters, and clients while maintaining accurate documentation and adhering to regulatory standards.

The role emphasizes customer service, teamwork, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a hybrid in-office schedule three days per week.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years prior experience in the insurance industry
• Knowledge of Property and Casualty Insurance concepts
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to operate within a network environment
• Ability to lead and mentor
• Ability to work effectively in a team setting as well as independently in a fast-paced environment
• Strong demonstration of initiative, interpersonal skills, and a professional demeanor
• Entrepreneurial spirit with an inquisitive mindset and process improvement ideas
• Capable of managing multiple tasks, delegating when needed and adapting to change

Responsibilities

• Underwriting Support: gather information, complete renewal quotes and binders, and issue policies timely.
• Communication: provide exceptional service to brokers, clients, and internal teams; influence broker adoption of changes.
• Compliance: maintain underwriting records and ensure regulatory adherence; stay updated on industry changes.
