Goodhue Boat Company is seeking a dedicated Marine Technician to join our Meredith, NH team. You will support the Service Manager in day-to-day operations, focusing on maintenance, repair, and detailing of a wide range of boats to deliver exceptional customer experiences.

The role offers training and advancement opportunities, with paid certifications through Mercury, Volvo, Mastercraft and Yamaha. Regular weekends and overtime are possible as part of a busy, team-driven environment.

Qualifications

• 2 years experience in repair or auto shop program completion.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Driver's license required; boaters license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose electrical issues on boats and components.
• Remove and repair engines, transom, or outdrives.
• Disassemble unit and inspect parts for wear.
• Overhaul or replace carburetors, power systems.
• Install marine electronics and radios.

We are looking for a Full-Time Marine Technicianto help us in delivering award-winning customer service and creating a unique and memorable experience for our customers. This position will assist the Service Manager in ensuring the success of the Marina at our Meredith location.

Position Overview

Marine Technicians will report to the Service Manager and assist in the day-to-day operations of the Service department. In this position, you will be part of a team that specializes in the maintenance, repair, and detailing of most makes and models of boats. This position offers the opportunity to expand your technical expertise and learn from a team of highly skilled and experienced Marine Technicians.

Primary Responsibilities

• Electrical diagnostics.
• Remove and repair engines, transom or outdrive.
• Disassemble unit and inspect parts for wear.
• Overhaul or replace carburetors, blowers, generators, distributors, starters, pumps, electrical and fuel systems.
• Rebuild parts such as engine cylinder blocks and outdrives.
• Install and repair accessories such as radios and marine electronics.
• Maintain and keep current with all certifications.
• Complete repair work utilizing service scheduler within the established timeframe.
• Maintain internal/external customer satisfaction.
• Maintain internal and external customer satisfaction.
• Attend training and getting certifications with Mercury, Volvo, Mastercraft and Yamaha if needed. (Paid for by Goodhue.)
• Other responsibilities as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Astute attention to detail.
• Experience and certifications with manufacturers, like Mercury , Volvo, Yamaha, etc.
• Ability to thoroughly examine boats and effectively communicates the nature and extent of damage or malfunction with the service advisor.
• Perform diagnostics and repair of all types of marine engines and transmissions/drives/systems.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Ability to provide exceptional customer service.
• Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills while working both independently and within a team environment.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to ascend and descend a ladder.

Education, Licensing & Skills

• 2 years experience in repair or participation and completion of a high school/vocational auto shop program, required.
• Minimum of High School degree or equivalent
• Driver's License, required.
• Boater's License, preferred.

Work Schedule

• Monday-Friday + Weekends. (5 days per week)
• Monday-Friday in off-peak season
• Flexible Schedule
• Overtime available.
• Boater's License, preferred.
