Goodhue Boat Company is seeking a Full-Time Marine Technician at our Meredith, NH location to support the Service Manager in delivering exceptional marina services.

You will work with a team of skilled technicians to diagnose, repair, and detail a variety of boats, expanding your technical expertise while ensuring high customer satisfaction. This role includes overtime and ongoing training opportunities, with the goal of maintaining our award-winning customer experience.

Responsibilities

Diagnose electrical and mechanical issues on boats.
Remove and repair engines, transoms or outdrives.
Disassemble units and inspect for wear, defects, and corrosion.
Overhaul or replace carburetors, generators, distributors, starters and pumps.
Install marine electronics and radios.
Maintain certifications and document service work.
Exceed customer expectations and maintain satisfaction.

Job description

Goodhue Boat Company is growing and we are looking for driven, enthusiastic, and talented individuals to join our team and grow with us! We are looking for a Full-Time Marine Technician to help us in delivering award-winning customer service and creating a unique and memorable experience for our customers. This position will assist the Service Manager in ensuring the success of the Marina at our Meredith location.

Position Overview

Marine Technicians will report to the Service Manager and assist in the day-to-day operations of the Service department. In this position, you will be part of a team that specializes in the maintenance, repair, and detailing of most makes and models of boats. This position offers the opportunity to expand your technical expertise and learn from a team of highly skilled and experienced Marine Technicians.

Primary Responsibilities

Electrical diagnostics.
Remove and repair engines, transom or outdrive.
Disassemble unit and inspect parts for wear.
Overhaul or replace carburetors, blowers, generators, distributors, starters, pumps, electrical and fuel systems.
Rebuild parts such as engine cylinder blocks and outdrives.
Install and repair accessories such as radios and marine electronics.
Maintain and keep current with all certifications.
Complete repair work utilizing service scheduler within the established timeframe.
Maintain internal/external customer satisfaction.
Maintain internal and external customer satisfaction.
Attend training and getting certifications with Mercury, Volvo, Mastercraft and Yamaha if needed. (Paid for by Goodhue.)
Other responsibilities as needed.

Required Qualifications

Astute attention to detail.
Experience and certifications with manufacturers, like Mercury , Volvo, Yamaha, etc.
Ability to thoroughly examine boats and effectively communicates the nature and extent of damage or malfunction with the service advisor.
Perform diagnostics and repair of all types of marine engines and transmissions/drives/systems.
Strong organizational skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
Ability to provide exceptional customer service.
Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills while working both independently and within a team environment.

Physical Requirements

Education, Licensing & Skills

2 years experience in repair or service facility or participation and completion of a high school/vocational auto shop program, required.
Minimum of High School degree or equivalent
Driver's License, required.
Boater's License, preferred.
