• Strong blueprint reading skills and the ability to take accurate measurements.
• Proficiency with structural fitting tools and equipment.
• Physical capability to climb ladders and work in confined spaces or at heights as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Interpret blueprints, drawings, and layout specifications for marine structures.
• Lay out, measure, cut, fit, and align structural steel plates, stiffeners, bulkheads, and other vessel parts.
• Prepare joints and position materials to be welded.
• Operate cutting torches, grinders, and related fitting tools safely.
• Verify dimensions and alignment to meet specification requirements.
• Work in tandem with welders and other trades while adhering to shipyard safety procedures.
