Job summary

Core Group Resources is seeking experienced Outside Machinists to join their Seattle team for ship repair and marine construction. You will install and align major machinery and propulsion systems, reading blueprints and specifications to ensure precise fit and alignment.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in machining, strong safety awareness, and the ability to work overtime as needed in a shipyard environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a machinist, machinery assembler, or similar mechanical trade.
• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training preferred.
• Experience with heavy machinery and mechanical equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications.
• Knowledge of manual machining operations, including lathes and milling machines.
• Understanding of basic mathematics, measurements, and unit conversions.
• Proficiency with common hand tools and power tools.
• Knowledge of shipyard safety practices and marine vessel terminology.
• Ability to work overtime as needed.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work at heights up to 60 feet.
• Ability to enter confined spaces while using required respiratory protection.
• Ability to work in tight spaces and awkward positions.
• Drug-free workplace; must complete a pre-employment drug screen and background check
