Job summary

Everett Ship Repair LLC in Everett, WA seeks an Experienced Machinist Supervisor to lead journeymen and apprentices in installing and aligning major equipment, fabricating components, and ensuring safe, efficient production.

You will supervise tasks, manage cost, schedule, and quality, coordinate with HR and project managers, and promote a strong safety culture while mentoring trades staff and supporting business growth.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of marine-related equipment and ship repair techniques and complex mathematical principles as applied to shipping activities.
• Ability to use PC applications for word processing and spreadsheets.
• Previous journey experience as a Machinist or Machinery Assembler.
• Ability to mentor apprentices and lead training programs.
• Knowledge of ship construction and marine equipment.
• Effective leadership and communication skills.
• Conflict resolution and team coordination.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision to assigned employees, including task assignment, meeting deadlines, resolving conflicts, and motivating performance.
• Analyze project status, cost, and schedule projections.
• Oversee temporary labor and cross-yard staffing arrangements.
• Lead and promote safety culture; conduct toolbox talks.
• Coordinate with project managers on staffing, tools, and subcontracts.
• Assist estimating with baselines and cost data for proposals.
• Attend daily production meetings and coordinate with shops.
• Develop cooperative working relationships and share knowledge with apprentices.
