Saronic Technologies Inc. seeks experienced Outside Machinists to read blueprints, install propulsion and auxiliary machinery, and perform overhaul and testing of piping and valve systems in a shipyard setting.

Applicants should have strong mechanical skills, the ability to work aloft and in confined spaces, and collaborate with welders, pipefitters, and electricians to ensure efficient vessel construction and repair.

Qualifications

• Ability to read blueprints and sketches to understand project specifications.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Experience taking material take-offs from drawings for cut lengths.
• Proficiency with measuring devices for layout and alignment.
• Experience planning pipe system layouts and installations.
• Familiarity with large and small machinery installation and repair.
• Capability to use rigging equipment and work in elevated/ confined spaces.

Responsabilités

• Install, align, and test main propulsion plant machinery.
• Install and test auxiliary machinery (generators, switchboards, piping, pumps).
• Perform overhaul, maintenance, and installation of valves, pumps, turbines, and heat exchangers.
• Conduct hydrostatic testing and system grooming per standards.
• Install mechanical systems such as windlasses, pumps, motors, and hydraulics.
• Use precision instruments to achieve proper alignment.
• Operate machine tools to modify or fabricate parts.
• Support installation of HVAC systems and associated components.
• Assemble and secure pipes and fittings per blueprints.
• Inspect and test installed systems and pipelines.
