Job summary

Bob Hewes Boats in South Florida seeks a Service Writer to be the primary contact between customers and the service department, scheduling appointments, preparing repair orders, and guiding repairs from intake to delivery. The ideal candidate is organized, detail oriented, and customer service driven; marine industry knowledge is strongly preferred and bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

• Previous experience as a Marine Service Writer, Automotive Service Advisor, or similar role preferred.
• Marine industry knowledge strongly preferred.
• Bilingual English & Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and create a positive service experience from check-in through delivery.
• Open, prepare, and close repair orders accurately and efficiently.
• Schedule service appointments and coordinate workflow with technicians and management.
• Communicate repair recommendations, estimates, and timelines to customers.
• Keep customers updated on the status of their repairs.
• Coordinate warranty claims and manufacturer documentation as needed.
• Work closely with technicians to ensure repairs are completed correctly and on schedule.
• Review completed repairs with customers and explain work performed.
• Process invoices and collect payment upon completion of service.
• Maintain accurate customer and service records within the dealership management system.
• Assist with service department organization and daily operations.
• Provide outstanding customer service both in person and over the phone.

Excellent customer service and communication skills. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities. Computer proficiency and experience with dealership management software is a plus. Ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment. Professional appearance and positive attitude. Team player who works well with technicians, parts personnel, and management. Bilingual (English & Spanish) Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
