Job summary

Orion seeks a Safety Supervisor to oversee Health, Safety and Environmental programs for marine dredging operations. You will ensure compliance with federal, state, and local rules while leading safety training for site leaders and crews.

The role emphasizes audits, incident investigations, policy updates, and ongoing risk management across multiple locations. A minimum of five years in marine safety is preferred; BCSP credential is desirable.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years safety and health experience in marine construction.
• Bachelor's or A.A.S. in Occupational/Industrial Safety preferred.
• BCSP credential preferred (SMS/CSP/ASP/CHST etc.).
• Valid driver's license is required.
• Strong training and communication skills; ability to interface with all levels.

Responsibilities

• Maintain proactive field safety audit program at project sites.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses; implement corrective actions.
• Recommend updates to SOPs and HS&E policies.
• Update HS&E documents and training materials; ensure policy interpretation consistency.
• Generate and review weekly safety reports and project safety metrics.
• Provide safety project support, maintain safety management systems databases.
• Assist with safety inspections, audits, and data analysis for improvements.
• Train captains, foremen, superintendents, and project managers on safety initiatives.
