Job summary

Weeks Marine, Inc. seeks a Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) to coordinate HSE activities across dredging projects on the eastern seaboard and Gulf Coast. You will implement safety policies, review risk, and support site teams on health, safety, and environmental requirements.

The role requires 5+ years of safety experience, fluent English, and the ability to work a 17 days on / 11 days off, 12-hour shift schedule. A strong commitment to safety and regulatory compliance is essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of construction or general industry safety experience.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or Environmental Sciences preferred.
• Must be fluent in English (spoken and written).

Responsibilities

• Review and enforce company safety policies and procedures on dredging projects.
• Support the SSHO Supervisor and HSE Manager in implementing the APP and AHA.
• Communicate HSE concerns to project management daily.
• Conduct hazard identifications, inspections, incident management, and reporting.
• Identify training needs and conduct site-specific HSE indoctrination.
• Maintain incident and training records with corporate risk.
• Learn and assist with dredging operations including hydraulic cutterhead, hopper, and clamshell dredging.
