Job summary

West Marine in Seattle, WA is seeking a Rigging Associate to support Rig Shop operations with specialized marine rigging services, custom fabrication, and expert product knowledge. You will perform skilled rigging work including splicing, swaging, and fabrication for retail and production customers.

The role emphasizes strong customer service, sales guidance, and collaboration with supervising staff. Candidates should have a high school diploma, knowledge of sailing, and hands-on rigging

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• General knowledge of sailing and boats is required.
• Experience with custom rigging fabrication is strongly preferred.
• Strong communication and customer-service skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Rigging Supervisor to prioritize and complete work orders.
• Produce quotes, process orders, and manage production and payments.
• Perform line splicing, rope cutting, swaging, and fabrication.
• Drive sales through customer engagement and product knowledge.
• Communicate scope, pricing, and timelines with customers.
• Occasional travel for on-site assessment and installation.
• Educate store staff about rigging services.
• Maintain a clean and safety-compliant shop.
• Assist customers with in-store purchases.
• Support restocking of rigging hardware.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned.
