Job summary

Orion is seeking skilled personnel to support marine construction projects across field locations. The role emphasizes crane rigging, piling operations, and safe handling of hoisting equipment on barges and land sites.

Ideal candidates have documented piledriving experience, blueprint literacy, and strong knowledge of rigging practices. The team collaborates with crane operators, welders, and laborers to complete projects safely and efficiently.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two (2) years crane rigging and/or operations experience on land and on barges or equivalent.
• Able to read and understand blueprints or site plans for piledriving work.
• General knowledge of construction rigging includes slings, chokers, spreader bars and load blocks.

Responsibilities

• Assist in unloading and assembling crane or hoisting equipment.
• Unloads piling materials (concrete pipe, H-piling, timber, steel sheet piling).
• Fuels, lubricates, and maintains piledriving hammer and leads.
• Lay out piling locations from blueprints or site plans.
• Assist with installation of boom and hoisting cables.
• Use rigging knowledge to complete crane hoisting tasks safely.
• Work with crew to position loads over designated areas.
• Dress and cap pilings after driving and prepare for superstructure installation.
• Participate in safety and environmental initiatives.
