Job summary

Orion is seeking a Crane Rigging and Piledriving Helper to support field operations at marine project locations. The role collaborates closely with the Project Superintendent, Barge Foreman, Pile Driver Operator, Welders, and Laborers to complete piling and crane tasks safely.

Responsibilities include unloading and assembling hoisting equipment, handling various piling types, and setting up tools per site plans. Emphasis on safety, teamwork, and adherence to project schedules is required.

Qualifications

• Two years crane rigging/operational experience on land or barges.
• Ability to read blueprints/site plans for piledriving work.
• General knowledge of construction rigging (slings, chokers, spreader bars, load blocks).

Responsibilities

• Assist Barge Foreman/Operator to complete marine construction projects.
• Unload/assemble crane hoisting equipment for piledriving work.
• Unload piling types: concrete pipe, H-piling, timber, steel sheet piling.
• Maintain piledriving hammer and related tools.
• Set up pilings according to blueprints/site plans.
• Prepare pilings for driving; assist in positioning and driving.
• Assist with installation of hoisting cables and rigging.
• Communicate with Pile Driver Operator using hand signals.
• Work with crews to move loads safely and efficiently.
• Perform safety/environmental initiatives and follow company policies.
