Job summary

Allianz Commercial seeks a senior NatCat Marine underwriter to identify and quantify global accumulation risks, modelled and non-modeled exposures, and support risk mitigation and underwriting controls. You will develop tools, manage data initiatives, and collaborate across Product Leaders, the CUO Technical Office, and regional underwriters to enhance strategy and controls.

You will own IT/data projects, ensuring Power BI dashboards directly support Marine underwriting and portfolio steering,

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ professional insurance/reinsurance experience and 3+ years’ underwriting experience for Marine on a global basis.
• Bachelor’s degree in Insurance and Risk Management, Geosciences, Engineering or Mathematics preferred.
• Experience with catastrophe modeling software (RMS, AIR, EQECAT) and GIS.
• Proven project management skills and ability to work with complex stakeholders.
• Strong Excel/VBA skills; database knowledge advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Develop Nat Cat underwriting tools and reports for Marine to enable portfolio steering and support underwriting processes.
• Own IT/data initiatives, delivering end-to-end reporting and transformation projects (Power BI dashboards).
• Translate CAT Modeling results for Marine Underwriters; explain portfolio impact and recommendations.
• Collaborate with multiple functions (Actuarial, Risk Management, Reinsurance) to support portfolio management and data quality.
• Maintain Marine Portfolio Steering and NatCat underwriting tools; provide ongoing support.
• Lead modelling upgrades and related analysis with comprehensive documentation.
