An established industry player is seeking a highly motivated Marine Mechanical Engineer to join their dynamic team. THOR Solutions is actively seeking a highly motivated journeyman-level Marine Mechanical Engineer with experience in ship propulsion to support the United States Coast Guard (USCG)'s Ship Design Team in Washington, DC. An ideal candidate will have prior experience with developing ship propulsion and control systems, machinery arrangements, weight assessments, and/or conducting trade studies on the configuration of propulsion and associated components, as well as familiarity with U.S. Federal or commercial shipbuilding programs, standards, and regulations.
Location: Primarily onsite (at least 3 days/week) at USCG Headquarters in Washington, DC. Alternative telework arrangements may be considered for especially qualified candidates.
Travel: Up to 10% for ship checks.
Physical Activity: Mainly desk/computer work; may include visits to waterfront/shipboard environments, traversing shipboard spaces.
Pay Range: $80,000 - 112,000, based on experience and qualifications.
Citizenship & Security Clearance: U.S. citizenship is required. Candidates should have or be eligible for a DoD Secret security clearance.
