Job summary

American Commercial Barge Line is seeking a skilled Marine Mechanic to maintain and repair towboat fleet along the Mississippi River. You will diagnose propulsion and auxiliary systems, perform routine maintenance, troubleshoot with a multimeter, and keep all safety and environmental procedures in force.

Work at Harahan or Port Allen, LA on a full-time, hourly basis. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of mechanical maintenance experience, a valid TWIC and driver's license, and the ability to be

Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
• Active TWIC is required.
• Valid driver's license required.
• 5+ years mechanical maintenance experience.
• Must live within reasonable driving distance of Harahan or Port Allen.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs to main propulsion machinery and auxiliary systems.
• Inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot vessel engines and equipment.
• Use an electrical multimeter safely to diagnose issues.
• Document maintenance and repair work per SMS.
• Maintain spare parts inventory and coordinate with vendors.
• Be on-call weekends and nights when required.
• Adhere to safety, environmental and USCG regulations.
• Assist with repairs on mainline vessels as needed.
