Job summary

American Commercial Barge Line (ACBL) is seeking a skilled Marine Mechanic to maintain and repair the towboat fleet along the Mississippi River region. You will perform inspections, routine maintenance, and repairs on main propulsion and auxiliary systems to ensure safe operation of fleet vessels.

Qualifications

• 5+ years mechanical maintenance experience and repairs of equipment.
• Must meet ACBL physical examination requirements.
• Must possess and maintain an active TWIC.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Perform work in accordance with ACBL safety & environmental policies.
• Abide by ACBL policies, USCG and environmental regulations.
• Maintain fleet vessel equipment in proper working order.
• Repair engines, generators, and auxiliary machinery on vessels.
• Troubleshoot with an electric multi-meter and repair as needed.
• Track, document, and perform routine maintenance on vessels.
• Maintain documentation and paperwork for repairs and maintenance.
• Maintain spare parts inventory and re-order as needed.
• Assist outside vendors and when needed repair mainline vessels.
• Support pool vessels and transport them to/from mainline vessels.
