Job summary

American Commercial Barge Line (ACBL) is seeking a Marine Mechanic to maintain towboat propulsion and vessel systems in Harahan or Port Allen, LA. You will inspect, repair, and service engines, generators, and auxiliary equipment to ensure fleet readiness.

Role requires 5+ years of mechanical maintenance, TWIC, and a valid driver’s license. You must be willing to be on-call weekends and nights as needed, with strong commitment to safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years mechanical maintenance experience and repairs of associated equipment.
• Must possess and maintain an active TWIC.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
• Minimum of a high school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Perform safety and environmental policy-compliant maintenance on fleet vessels.
• Repair engines, generators, and auxiliary machinery and other vessel systems.
• Use an electric multi-meter to troubleshoot and perform repairs.
• Maintain documentation and inventory for repairs and parts.
