Job summary

Sunoco LP is seeking a PIC Helper to support safe and efficient marine fuel transfer operations. This entry-level role provides hands-on assistance before, during, and after bunker fuel deliveries under the guidance of a designated PIC.

The position emphasizes safety, equipment handling, and coordination among vessel personnel, drivers, and terminal teams, with potential development toward a PIC role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred.
• TWIC credential may be required where applicable.
• Ability to work as part of a team and follow verbal/written instructions.
• Strong communication and situational awareness; ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to work weekends, evenings, holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist the PIC with setup and preparation of marine fueling operations.
• Attend vessel or fueling location for pre-transfer preparations.
• Assist with positioning and staging bunker fuel trucks and related equipment.
• Handle, connect, disconnect, and secure transfer hoses and equipment.
• Assist with connecting hoses, fittings, valves, and grounding equipment under PIC guidance.
• Support deployment of spill containment and safety equipment as required.
• Inspect hoses and equipment; report concerns to the PIC.
• Maintain safe access to docks, vessels, and fueling areas.
• Assist drivers and vessel personnel with operational activities as directed.
• Communicate changes in operations to the PIC and document activities.
