Job summary

Sunoco LP seeks a meticulous Person in Charge to coordinate and oversee marine fuel transfer operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and regulatory compliance. You will serve as the focal point among vessel crews, drivers, and terminal personnel during bunker fuel deliveries.

Responsibilities include pre-transfer briefings, quantity verification, safety monitoring, and post-delivery documentation, while upholding USCG and company policies across operations.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience in marine fueling, petroleum transportation, or related operations preferred.
  • TWIC required.
  • Must meet requirements to obtain USCG PIC designation.
  • Bilingual skills are desired but not required.
  • Able to perform outdoors work in varying weather and environmental conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned bunker fuel deliveries.
  • Coordinate and supervise bunker fuel transfers to marine vessels.
  • Coordinate with vessel crews, dock personnel, terminal representatives, and drivers to ensure safe deliveries.
  • Arrive before delivery trucks to coordinate with vessel personnel and set up the site.
  • Conduct pre-transfer safety meetings with all involved personnel prior to fueling.
  • Verify vessel information, fuel quantities, documentation, and transfer procedures.
  • Monitor fueling operations for safe, efficient, and compliant execution.
  • Maintain communication with vessel officers, dispatch, drivers, terminal staff, and supervisors.
  • Ensure compliance with USCG regulations, federal/state/local rules, port authority, environmental policies.
  • Inspect hoses, pumps, connections, trucks, containment equipment before and during transfers.
  • Follow USCG regulations and company safety policies throughout operations.
  • Respond to spills, leaks, emergencies, or unsafe conditions and initiate emergency reporting.
  • Handle post-delivery tasks and complete paperwork accurately and timely.
  • Submit operational reports, delivery docs, transfer logs, and incident reports timely.
  • Maintain professional relationships with vessel crews, customers, and partners.
