Job summary

Caterpillar is seeking a Field Service Engineer (Marine) to deliver top-tier technical support for MaK/MSE engines across North America. You will work with field service reps, dealers, and customers to install, commission, troubleshoot, and repair equipment, ensuring maximum uptime and customer satisfaction.

The role requires hands-on mechanical expertise, strong communication, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–4 years of service experience with large diesel, gas, or dual-fuel engines.
• Background in industrial/mechanical fields preferred.
• Must be 21+ with a clean driving record (no more than 2 moving violations in 12 months or 3 in 3 years).

Responsibilities

• Provide direct field support to CM product customers, through direct contact or network of distributors.
• Assist mechanical commissioning of CM products and Balance of Plant (BOP) equipment.
• Execute InSitu machining and other engine-related service tasks.
• Document technical reports for commissioning and field service activities clearly.
• Coordinate day-to-day field service activities with dealers, field personnel, and suppliers.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and electronic engine issues; guide corrective actions.
• Organize engine repairs, overhauls, and major repairs with technical teams and subcontractors.
• Assess engine damage and determine best course of action.
• Promote and participate in service-related training to expand knowledge.
