Job summary

Brunswick is seeking a fiberglass finisher to join our Boat Group in Fort Wayne, IN. You will repair and finish fiberglass components, prep molds, and apply gel coats and resins using hand tools and spray equipment, while reading blueprints and following job instructions.

You will work in a fast-paced, noisy environment, lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for long shifts. The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and adherence to quality standards, with competitive hourly pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Requires high school education or GED equivalent.
• Two years fiberglass finishing experience with repair skills.
• Fiberglass experience required.
• Ability to pass respirator fit test.
• Ability to read and understand job descriptions.
• Hand tool knowledge.
• Hazardous chemical handling and disposal knowledge.
• Quality system procedures, instructions, and documents familiarity.
• Ability to mix and spray gel coats and finish to Class A quality.
• Ability to repair paint and small blemishes on painted products.
• Forklift/hoist/technical tool experience preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• Use of hand, battery, and pneumatic tools.
• 10+ hour shift endurance: standing, bending, reaching.
• Climbing stairs, molds, and staging as required.
• Material handling and pattern arrangement per documentation.
• Tape measure reading ability.
• Moderate lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Willingness to overtime to meet goals.
• Adherence to safety, PPE, and quality standards.
• Dependability, reliability, teamwork, and adaptability.

Responsibilities

• Repairs fiberglass boat hulls, decks, and small parts with spray gun, buffer, and finishes.
• Inspect parts visually or by tapping for bubbles/voids; verify measurements.
• Prepare molds, laminate composites, and apply resins/gel coats.
• Read blueprints and follow instructions; report status of completion.
• Work with resins, gel coats, fiberglass, foam, and adhesives.
• Operate forklifts/hoists and handle material movement; ensure proper fit.
• Adhere to safety standards, PPE, and quality guidelines.
• Collaborate with teammates in a fast-paced environment.
