Job summary

Glosten seeks student interns to work with naval architecture, marine engineering, ocean engineering & analysis, and marine construction teams in Seattle, WA and Providence, RI. The internship offers exposure to finite element modeling, structural analysis, seakeeping and propulsion work within a collaborative, employee-owned firm with 65+ years in the marine industry.

Qualifications

Strong academic background in naval architecture, marine engineering, hydrodynamics, numerical methods or statistics.
Mutual respect and collegial attitude in a team environment.

Interest in marine industry with potential for permanent employment after graduation.
Excellent communication skills to convey complex ideas clearly within interdisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

Assist with finite element modeling and structural analysis.
Support seakeeping, resistance, propulsion, and stability analyses.
Contribute to climatology, mooring analysis and piping/electrical system design.
Assist drafting (2D) and modeling (3D) tasks as needed.
Collaborate with engineers and clients on project deliverables.
