Job summary

NCLA Norwegian Cruise Line America is seeking a shipboard maintenance technician to perform mechanical repairs on onboard machinery and equipment under the supervision of the First Engineer. The role requires a proactive approach to safety and teamwork in a high-occupancy vessel environment.

The successful candidate will have welding experience (ARC, Oxy-Acetylene, MIG, TIG), at least 6 months in heavy machinery maintenance, and a high school diploma with STCW training.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 6 months experience in mechanical maintenance with heavy machinery.
  • 1 year experience with welding: ARC, Oxy-Acetylene, MIG and TIG.
  • Basic to intermediate English verbal and writing skills.
  • High school diploma or foreign equivalent; STCW training required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in repairs of machinery and equipment on board under the First Engineer's direction.
  • Maintain a clean, organized workshop and follow the Safety Management System.
  • Report faults or defective equipment immediately to supervisors.
  • Support Engine Room operation, maintenance and repairs as directed.
