Job summary

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) seeks a Supervisory Enforcement Manager in Silver Spring, MD, within the Office of Law Enforcement. You will lead a team of law enforcement officers, special agents, and operations personnel to enforce domestic laws and treaties protecting living marine resources and wildlife.

You will plan and execute comprehensive initiatives against IUU fishing, oversee budgets and staffing, and provide guidance to NMFS managers and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Must be able to obtain & maintain Top Secret / Critical-Sensitive clearance.
• Subject to Tier 5 background investigation; local security access limited to Secret.
• Must be able to bear and maintain firearms proficiency.
• Must be able to operate a Federal motor vehicle daily.
• Must meet and maintain physical standards and medical requirements.
• This is a Drug Testing Designated Position (TDP).

Responsibilities

• Serve as Headquarters Assistant Director managing law enforcement officers, special agents and Operations team personnel involved in enforcing domestic laws and international obligations.
• Plan and execute initiatives to counter Illegal, Unreported and Unregulated (IUU) Fishing.
• Perform budget and financial management oversight and advise NMFS managers and stakeholders.
• Responsible for division of human, financial, and material resources.
• Develop policies, procedures, and strategies to support wildlife conservation and the detection and prevention of illegal imports.
• Coordinate with partner agencies, port authorities, foreign entities, and other stakeholders.
• Interview candidates for subordinate roles and evaluate subordinates’ performance.
