The North Carolina Department of Transportation's Ferry Division seeks a Marine Electrician to perform maintenance and repair of marine electrical and electro-mechanical systems on ferries, dredges, and related marine vessels. You will work on AC and DC generators, switchboards, distribution panels, lighting and alarm circuits, with supervision as needed to ensure safe operation and Coast Guard compliance.

Based at the Cherry Branch Operations facility, the role typically follows a 7 days on/7

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with four years of experience in marine electrical/electro-mechanical systems maintenance and repair; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsabilités

• Maintain and repair marine electrical and electro-mechanical systems on ferries, dredges, and related vessels.
• Assist and supervise installation, maintenance and repair of AC/DC generators, switchboards, distribution panels, lighting and alarm circuits.
• Coordinate with the chief engineer on electrical repairs and support shipyard overhaul activities.
• May require overnight travel and will work in Cherry Branch Operations; may include shift work and 7 days on/7 days off.
