Department of Transportation is seeking an Electronics Technician I (S) for the Ferry Shipyard in Manns Harbor, NC. This role repairs and maintains complex electronics devices and systems, calibrates equipment, troubleshoots issues, and documents work using schematics and manuals.

Qualified applicants typically hold an Associate's degree in electronics and at least one year of relevant experience, with ability to travel overnight if required and pass a fit-for-duty test.

Formación

• Associate's degree in electronics and one year of experience in repair and maintenance of electronic devices.
• Equivalency option may apply per Education and Experience Equivalency Guide.

Responsabilidades

• Troubleshoots and repairs electronic systems made up of complex interconnected electronic devices.
• Determines circuit configuration and function of complex electronics systems in the absence of documentation.
• Designs, constructs, and evaluates the devices; modifies devices to improve performance or customize for special use.
• Operates standard and specialized test equipment.
• Maintains an inventory of electronic replacement parts.
• Recommends additional shop equipment to supervisor.
• Compiles and studies technical literature to keep electronics knowledge up to date.
