Job summary

The University of Georgia seeks an Associate Director of Education for the Marine Extension and Georgia Sea Grant to provide strategic leadership and operational oversight of the Marine Education Center and Aquarium.

You will supervise faculty and staff, manage facilities, vessels, and budgets, and collaborate across university units and external partners to deliver innovative marine education and outreach programs aligned with Sea Grant initiatives.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in education, environmental science, biology, museum studies, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of leadership or management experience in education-focused programs.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and grant-funding abilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the Marine Education Center and Aquarium and supervise staff.
• Lead development and evaluation of marine education and outreach programs.
• Guide strategic planning, budgeting, and external funding efforts.
• Represent UGA Marine Extension and Georgia Sea Grant at events and in partnerships.
