Job summary

Safe Harbor Marinas in Harpswell, ME is seeking a Diesel Technician (Mechanic) to inspect, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair diesel engines and marine drive systems.

As an authorized service center for Volo Penta, Volvo IPS, Cummins, Mercruiser Diesel, Yanmar and Westerbeke, you will diagnose complex systems and install electrical, plumbing and HVAC components. Own tools required; overtime may be available to meet deadlines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, technical training preferred.
• ABYC and/or manufacturer certifications preferred.
• Own tools and ability to lift 50 pounds; able to work in confined spaces.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, and repair boats of all kinds.
• Utilize diagnostic equipment to test and repair boat engines, hulls, propellers, rigging, masts, sails, and navigational equipment.
• Install and test sanitation and refrigeration systems, cabinetry, electrical systems, steering gear, and accessories.
• Troubleshoot, test, repair, replace, remove and install vessel systems and components.
• Must possess own tools; overtime may be required to meet deadlines.
