Job summary

Safe Harbor Marinas is seeking a boat technician to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain a variety of boats. The role requires hands-on ability with engines, electrical, and marine systems, plus the use of diagnostic tools.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent, with technical training and ABYC certifications preferred. Must bring own tools and be able to lift up to 50 pounds; overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• ABYC and/or manufacturer certifications are preferred.
• Technical school training is preferred.
• Must possess own tools and be able to lift 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, and repair boats of all kinds.
• Use diagnostic equipment to test engines, hulls, propellers, rigging, and navigation gear.
• Install and test sanitation and refrigeration systems and electricals.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and replace vessel systems and components.
• Assess jobs before starting, confirm budgeted time and frame for completion; source parts if required.
• Demonstrate knowledge of electrical, plumbing and water systems on boats.
