Job summary

ORION is seeking an experienced crane operator to support marine project locations in Goose Creek, SC. You will operate hydraulic cranes on barges and docks, interpret load charts, and coordinate with the Barge Foreman and welders to complete projects safely and efficiently.

Minimal two years of crane experience on land and barges is required, along with the ability to pass crane operation certification. You must read rigging charts, manage loads, and perform routine maintenance and safety

Qualifications

Two or more years crane operations experience on land and on barges.
Ability to read crane load charts to determine load and radius capabilities.
Ability to pass a crane operations certification test.

Responsibilities

Operate a hydraulic crane on barges or work vessels with multiple part pick-up or single line hoist.
Unloading and assembling crane or hoisting equipment for marine construction activity.
Move loads safely and precisely over designated areas using crane controls and load charts.
Perform daily safety inspections and routine maintenance like greasing and fueling of equipment.
Collaborate with Barge Foreman, Welders, Helpers, Laborers and other crafts to complete projects safely and efficiently.
