Job summary

Orion Marine Group in Goose Creek, SC is seeking an experienced Crane Operator to support field operations on marine projects. You will operate hydraulic cranes, assist with loading, unloading, rigging, and work closely with the Barge Foreman, welders, and construction crews to deliver projects safely and on schedule.

A minimum of two years crane experience is required; you must read load charts, perform daily safety inspections, and help maintain equipment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two (2) years crane operations experience on land and on barges.
• Ability to read, understand, and use crane load charts to determine load and radius capabilities.
• General knowledge of construction rigging: slings, chokers, spreader bars, load blocks.
• Capability to pass a crane operations certification test.

Responsibilities

• Operate a hydraulic crane on marine construction projects.
• Assist in unloading and assembling crane or hoisting equipment.
• Use load charts to determine lift capacities and radii.
• Move loads safely over designated areas and position loads accurately.
• Perform routine maintenance: clean, grease, oil, and refuel equipment.
• Conduct daily safety inspections of crane and equipment.
• Collaborate with Barge Foreman, welders and crew to complete projects.
