Job summary

Orion is seeking an experienced Crane Operator to support field operations at marine project locations in Mobile, Alabama. The role involves operating hydraulic rubber tire or track cranes, loading and unloading equipment, and assisting in assembly for marine construction and repairs.

You will follow load charts, perform daily safety inspections, and work closely with the Barge Foreman and other trades to complete projects safely and on schedule.

Qualifications

• Two years crane operations experience on land or barges or equivalent training providing crane skills

Responsibilities

• Works as assigned by the Barge Foreman to complete marine construction projects
• Assists in unloading and assembling crane or hoisting equipment for marine construction
• Operates hydraulic rubber tire or track crane and manages load lines and boom operations
• Maneuvers and positions loads safely over designated areas
• Uses crane load charts to determine load and radius capabilities
• Assists in installation of boom and hoisting cables
• Performs maintenance like cleaning, greasing, oiling, and fueling of equipment
• Performs daily crane safety inspections and identifies issues
• Ensures crane boom is secured on work barge before moving between locations
• Works with diverse craft teams to complete projects safely and efficiently
• Participates in Safety and Environmental initiatives to comply with regulations
