Job summary

McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. seeks an experienced Safety Manager to lead safety initiatives on a marine construction project. You will coordinate safety programs, inspections, PPE usage, and on-site safety materials with subcontractors and McCarthy staff.

The role requires 5+ years of safety leadership on large projects, a Bachelor’s degree, and OSHA 500 certification; Spanish language ability is a plus. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience managing safety on large marine or similar construction projects.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field required.
• OSHA 500 certification required.
• Spanish language preferred.
• Ability to travel as needed.
• Excellent communication, organizational, decision-making and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety initiatives on a marine project and ensure safety culture.
• Inspect safety programs and coordinate with on-site subcontractors and McCarthy employees.
• Ensure PPE and safety materials are used and safety documents are posted on-site.
• Investigate injuries and report to OSHA, coordinate corrective actions.
• Conduct/coordinate weekly toolbox talks with all employees.
• Record and forward safety meeting materials and related documents to Regional Safety Director.
