Orion Marine Construction is seeking an unskilled labor worker to support marine project and yard locations. You will perform a variety of basic physical tasks under close supervision for the Yard Superintendent and foremen.

Qualifications

• Be able to communicate effectively with coworkers.
• Be able to understand and follow specific directions from supervision.
• Submit to safety or job training required by client or contract.
• Capable of repeating tasks of short duration under supervision.
• Work within customer standards of accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Assist Yard Foreman, Construction Foremen and skilled workers in daily tasks.
• Handle lines to moor vessels or rig towing lines.
• Rig cables for lifting with cranes or anchor barges.
• Load and unload materials from vessels, docks, trucks or barges.
• Perform maintenance on equipment including de-rusting and painting.
• Move and organize building materials and tools as needed.
• Clean tools, equipment, and work areas to maintain a safe site.
• Spends time on one task or transitions between tasks as project progresses.
• Participate in safety and environmental initiatives.
