Job summary

The Hartford in the United States (Florida) is seeking a Marine Cargo & Logistics Claims Consultant to manage complex, high-exposure claims involving domestic and international transportation, warehousing, and distribution. The role requires strong analysis, negotiation, and collaboration with brokers, underwriters, and legal counsel.

You will review contracts, bills of lading, and liability issues, maintain reserves, and guide claim resolution across multimodal exposures.

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of experience handling logistics, transportation and marine cargo claims.
• Experience with domestic and international cargo claims and recovery actions is a plus.
• Willingness to travel occasionally for mediations and client visits.

Responsibilities

• Analyze coverage, investigate losses, and adjust claims per guidelines and laws.
• Manage a portfolio of logistics and marine cargo claims from first notice to resolution.
• Investigate cargo losses, theft, shortages, transit damage, warehousing incidents, and transport disruptions.
• Evaluate liability, causation, damages, and coverage issues while maintaining reserves.
• Coordinate with insureds, brokers, underwriters, surveyors, attorneys, and vendors.
