Job summary

Orion Marine Construction seeks a Barge Foreman to lead Louisiana field operations on marine projects. You will supervise daily on-board activities, coordinate with the Project Superintendent, and ensure safety and efficiency on site.

Ideal candidates have at least five years in marine construction on a work barge, with knowledge of piledriving, crane operations, welding, carpentry, and related trades; CPR/First Aid training is preferred. Excellent safety record required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years marine construction experience on a work barge or supervisory role.
• Experience coordinating multiple crafts and equipment on site.
• Certified in First Aid and CPR is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily on-going marine construction projects from the barge.
• Oversee movement of marine floating rigs between locations.
• Receive and handle material and equipment for operations (pile driving, docking, etc.).
• Ensure proper permits are in hand before activities and inspect equipment.
• Follow all Orion Safety Policies on site.
• Train new workers in equipment and tool use; resolve problems.
• Maintain time records and supervise crew activities.
• Use respirators/SCBA as required by contract and risk assessment.
• Adhere to safety procedures for chemical/process hazards.
