Job summary

Mortenson is seeking a Foreman to coordinate crews and manage field operations on construction sites in Louisiana. You will read blueprints, supervise laborers, interpret specs, and ensure safety and on-time scheduling.

You’ll lead by example, coach team members, maintain time records, and manage materials and equipment. A minimum of three years’ related experience, union-specific training, and a valid driver’s license are preferred for this role.

Qualifications

• Minimum three (3) years related experience preferred
• Must possess union specific training
• Current driver’s license
• Ability to work with tools and equipment such as power and non-powered hand tools, vibrators, pumps, drills, and jackhammers; ability to work with machinery such as forklifts, skid loaders, and power buggies

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures
• Supervise and coordinate activities of laborers and their assigned roles
• Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders
• Interpret company policies to workers and enforce safety regulations
• Establish and adjust work sequences to meet construction schedules, using knowledge of equipment capacities and assigned personnel
• Study and analyze schedules and estimate worker-hour requirements for job completion
• Analyze and resolve work problems
• Maintain time records
• Make cost estimates for contracts
• Lead team members by example, offer effective coaching and feedback, and effectively manage performance
