Job summary

Barker Boatworks is seeking a Marine Assembly Technician to install rough plumbing and electrical systems in open hulls before bonding. You will ensure correct routing, securing, labeling, and verification to prevent inaccessible issues later.

The role emphasizes reading diagrams, following specifications, and maintaining safety while working with livewell and bilge systems, plus bonding prep and verification.

Qualifications

• Experience in boat building, marine rigging, marine service, or a related plumbing/electrical trade.
• Reading wiring diagrams, plumbing schematics, and build specifications.
• Proficient with hand and power tools including drills, hole saws, crimpers, heat guns, and multimeters.

Responsibilities

• Install and route plumbing for livewells, baitwells, fishboxes, washdowns, sanitation, and bilge systems.
• Install thru-hulls, seacocks, scuppers, drains, and overboard discharges with proper backing, bedding, and sealant.
• Run and route wiring harnesses, battery cables, and grounding/bonding systems through the hull and liner.
• Terminate, crimp, heat shrink, and label connections to marine standards.
• Prep bonding surfaces, apply adhesives, and assist with hull mating and deck close-up.
