Job summary

Lorain Port and Finance Authority is seeking a Marina General Manager to oversee the Lakeside Marina’s daily operations, budget, and staff. The role focuses on safe, efficient, and profitable management, with tasks spanning slip rentals, vendor relations, and regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate will lead a team, manage capital projects, and partner with Port leadership to align objectives with the authority’s mission and community goals.

Qualifications

• Experience in marina, hospitality, or facility management.
• Ability to manage budgets, schedules and vendor contracts.
• Demonstrated leadership and staff development.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day marina operations including slip docking, fueling, maintenance, and housekeeping.
• Supervise, hire, train, and evaluate marina staff; prepare staff schedules.
• Oversee grounds, docks, fuel dock, equipment, and building maintenance to uphold standards.
• Coordinate seasonal prep and winterization of docks and marina buildings.
• Develop and deliver the marina budget and operating objectives; manage payroll and deposits.
• Oversee boat slip rentals; manage registrations and dock/rack assignments.
• Negotiate vendor contracts; inspect docks, facilities and equipment for safety.
• Lead safety and emergency planning for staff, slipholders, and visitors.
• Address slipholder/guest concerns and resolve conflicts promptly.
• Create and maintain marina processes and documentation.
