Chesapeake Yacht Club, Inc in Shady Side, MD seeks energetic Dock Hand / Maintenance team members to join our waterfront operations. This hands-on role blends frontline member hospitality with daily marina upkeep, vessel handling, and light facility repair across docks, grounds, and club amenities.

You will work outdoors in varying weather, lift up to 50 lbs, assist with event setup, and help ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for members and guests.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of boating, knot-tying, and line handling; willingness to learn/training provided.
• Practical hands-on experience with basic tools for maintenance and repairs.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Flexible availability to work weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Waterfront & Marina Operations: safely handle vessels, operate fuel dock and pump-out stations, greet members and guests.
• Facility Upkeep & Maintenance: daily cleaning, minor repairs, grounds maintenance, inventory tracking.
• Event Logistics: assist with setup, staging, and breakdown of club events and private parties.
