Job summary

NYC Pride is seeking an experienced Event Manager to lead The March, coordinating logistics, city agencies, vendors, and volunteers for the annual Pride march in Manhattan. The role oversees production, registrations, budgets, pre- and post-event activities, with a focus on safety, efficiency, and guest experience.

Reports to Senior Director, Events; start date November 1, 2026; involves engaging with diverse external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 5 to 7 years of experience in large-scale event planning and execution.
• Strong communication skills, with experience in public speaking and working with volunteers, sponsors, and VIPs.
• Proficiency in tools such as Google Suite, Microsoft Office, Dropbox, Eventbrite, and CRM’s.
• Knowledge or experience in permitting and municipal agency liaison preferred.
• Knowledge or experience in de‑escalation training.
• Fundraising experience is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Lead The March logistics, overseeing planning and execution, contingents, city agencies, vendors, exhibitors, volunteers.
• Establish contingency plans to anticipated challenges, problems, or disruptions.
• Improve the guest experience for all March participants, including stakeholders and spectators.
• Collaborate with departments on the creative presentation of The March.
• Oversee on-site operations, managing production timelines and budgets.
