Job summary

BAMSI in Taunton, MA is seeking a Residential Counselor for MAP to provide rehabilitative support to adults in Group Living Environments, fostering daily living skills and community integration.

The role requires MAP certification within 3 months, a high school diploma, a valid driver’s license, and strong English communication. You’ll implement treatment plans, document care, transport residents, and advocate for residents’ needs in a compassionate, trauma-informed team.

Qualifications

• MAP certification required; if not current, obtain within 3 months.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to assist with mobility.
• Strong English communication and basic computer literacy.
• Experience in mental health preferred; trauma-informed care.
• Lived experience or multilingual abilities are a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Provide rehabilitative support to adults in Group Living Environments (GLE).
• Teach ADLs and socialization skills (cooking, budgeting, medication management).
• Implement treatment plans and behavioral interventions under clinician guidance.
• Administer/supervise medications per MAP guidelines and document care.
• Transport residents to appointments and community activities.
• Advocate for residents’ needs and model healthy coping strategies.
• Maintain a safe, clean home environment and complete timely documentation.
