Job Summary: This position is responsible for performing moderate manufacturing weld fabrications of various products and components. The MFG Welder 2 demonstrates proficiency as a welder in established procedures and guidelines, including understanding drawings and blueprints, and adhering to standard equipment setup, tack welding, stitch welding, and seal welding procedures. Able to work independently or as part of a team to provide welding services that meet customer needs and departmental goals.
Experience Level: Mid-level position with two to four years of relevant experience and/or demonstrated skills. Candidates should have or be working towards welding certifications in GMAW and FCAW processes in the 1-3 G/F positions. The MFG Welder 2 has moderate knowledge of standard and technical concepts across multiple manufacturing areas, operates with indirect supervision, and is self-starting.

Essential Functions:
- Promote and reinforce HOLT’s Values Based Leadership tools, models, and processes to ensure alignment with our Vision, Values, and Mission.
- Follow guidelines for setting up, tack/stitch welding subassemblies, and completing full product welds using various tools and fixtures.
- Assist in developing new fabrication weld procedures based on drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols, referencing current standard work.
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, and welding symbols to perform moderate welding tasks.
- Complete work orders, fabrication, and welding tasks accurately and efficiently.
- Ensure all weldments comply with relevant welding codes, procedures, and quality standards.
- Perform oxy/acetylene torch and plasma cutting, and weld using various processes.
- Maintain a mindset focused on high performance and quality.
- Complete tasks with some supervision, demonstrating independence.
- Participate in educational opportunities to update job knowledge, such as ProTech Welder Training Paths.
- Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to ensure consistency across shifts and areas.
- Transport materials within the area using overhead cranes, jibs, carts, magnets, and other devices.
- Work collaboratively as part of the manufacturing team to produce high-quality products that satisfy internal and external customers and meet manufacturing goals.
- Maintain equipment and work area through regular checks and maintenance, following Operator Performed Maintenance (OPM) and 5S principles.
- Follow contamination control and HAZMAT regulations.
- Report variances to established processes for areas or products.
- Work overtime as needed based on workload and customer requirements.
- Support training and development of team members.
- Work safely at all times, complying with safety policies and company standards.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of welding equipment, dimensional tools, and their maintenance.
- Ability to interpret specifications, drawings, blueprints, and use related equipment.
- Proficiency with computer software and hardware relevant to fabrication tasks.
- Strong work habits, attention to detail, and quality awareness.
- Technical skills as a qualified welder and fabricator.
- Ability to read, write, and understand technical information.
- Effective time management and adaptability to changing schedules.
- Logical troubleshooting skills and knowledge of RCCA processes.

- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and fabrication equipment.
- Self-motivated with a strong safety record.
- Complete Values Based Leadership training, including Conflict Resolution and SL II for Supervisors.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of two years’ relevant experience; four or more preferred.
- Basic welding certifications in GMAW, FCAW, and SMAW processes in the 1-3 G/F positions.

- Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
Work Environment:
- Use of PPE required.
- Indoor work around machinery, exposure to welding flashes, noise; outdoor work in weather extremes possible.
- Exposure to chemicals, dust, steam, and high-pressure equipment.
- Work in confined spaces or at heights may be necessary.
- Possible minor burns and cuts; report injuries promptly.
