Job Description

YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR:

• Welding metal components together with brazing and a variety of arc and gas welding equipment to fabricate or repair products such as machine parts and plant equipment.
• Performing welding processes on aluminum and/or steel parts and assemblies to required tolerances using appropriate welding metals and alloys.
• Passing welding certification tests.
• Performing related tasks such as thermal cutting and grinding.
• Repairing broken or cracked parts, filling holes, and enlarging metal parts as needed.
• Locating and repairing cracks in products and equipment.
• Maintaining a clean work area.
• Operating lathes, drill presses, mills, routers, grinding machines, duplicating, profile machines, brakes, and shears.
• Determining layouts and welding parts and assemblies according to engineering drawings and specifications.
• Monitoring and verifying quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
• Interpreting drawings, sketches, and preliminary designs to produce weldments with minimal supervision.
• Performing work with minimal supervision, sometimes without established procedures.

PHYSICAL AND SOFT SKILL DEMANDS:

• Strong reading comprehension skills to understand drawings, work orders, or written instructions.
• Strong mathematical skills for basic calculations.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills for effective teamwork.
• Ability to work under time pressure and independently.

• Passing welding tests and holding certifications to meet AWS D1.1 guidelines.
